U.S. bias in Australian Ed. Dept's recommended Apps

Just one more reason why iPads in our schools is not the answer. Our Department of Education have just released an updated list of  "107 Favorite iPad Apps for K-8"  April 11, 2012 However the U.S. bias is so blatent you wonder why some of these apps appear on the list in the first place.

PBS for instance is listed, but states it's main feature only works in the U.SA.

PBS Kids–Watch videos from your favorite PBS KIDS television series anytime, anywhere (in the USA).

and the whole listing for history is:

History
Early Jamestown–interactive textbook exploration of the early days of the Jamestown settlement and the state of Virginia.
Pass the Past–educational game to help students prepare for Virginia’s Standard’s of Learning (SOL) exams with a focus on World, United States and Virginia history, civics, and geography.
US History–McGraw-Hill Education’s American History Time Line is a fun and informative way to navigate the history of the United States.

This last one of course would be useful for American history students but the other two? How relevant is it to prepare our students for the state of Virgnia's Standards of Learning exams.

Perhaps it's just a matter of wording but it makes you wonder where these lists are coming from!
