WOW! I have just discovered that since the sessions I ran for students and parents last term are already out of date, the rules for accessing KIK messenger have already changed!Direct from the KIK website FAQ's:
"We changed the rating on our app to 17+ when we introduced Kik Cards. Kik Cards are optional features that let you do even more with Kik! You can use Kik Cards to find images and videos, play games and more. And just like on the Internet, there are lots of different types of content available on those Kik Cards."
Last term we were delivering the message to parents of our Year 5 & 6 students that they should be waiting until Year 8 to get KIK and now that KIK has 60% of them holding accounts it moves it up to 17 years old which equates to Year 11!
What chance do we have, if any of reigning it back now?
