News from Melbourne University

Late last year I heard that Melbourne Uni was introducing Melbourne School of Information (MSI) to focus on:

Communication, Creative Problem Solving, Teamwork.

A new degree pathway with a thrust on 'preparing students for a lifetime of change'. 

At MGGS we have noted these skills in our strategic planning now for a number of years and from our Early Years program we begin preparing students for a lifetime of change. I was interested to read the latest email from the Vice Chancellor at Melbourne University to all staff. Reading his email I can see clear pathways for our students, as they will be heading to university with the skills  required, especially with the experience they are having in Yrs 7 & 8  particpating in online units. I now wait with bated breath to see their new eLearning Strategy to see how it aligns with the draft document we are working on that will take us through to 2015.
